RESUMEN CORTO - SHORT SUMMARY

This report describes a case of a hepatic abscess caused by the bacteria Burkholderia cepacia, in a bitch with concurrent pyometra. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first report documenting a case of hepatic abscess presumably caused by haematogeneous spread of bacteria from a uterine infection in the veterinary literature.
