RESUMEN CORTO - SHORT SUMMARY

En medicina humana la craneoplastia reconstructiva es un procedimiento imprescindible para proteger el encéfalo en pacientes que han sido sometidos a craniectomías extensas.1 El implante apropiado para las craneoplastias debe ser flexible, robusto, inerte, no migratorio y que no interfiera con la adquisición o interpretación de imágenes postoperatorias.1 Por este motivo los implantes de titanio son ampliamente utilizados.1 A pesar de que la craneoplastia reconstructiva es un procedimiento rutinario en medicina humana, existen muy pocos casos descritos en la literatura veterinaria.2-4
