Alejandro Bayón del Río DVM PhD Dipl. CLOVE Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Murcia where he is currently Professor of the Department of Medicine and Animal Surgery. The care work performed at the University of Murcia Veterinary Hospital is the responsibility of the Ophthalmology Service. Within the university management is currently Head of the Department of Medicine and Animal Surgery and has been Coordinator of the Master 'Medicine of Small Animals', being this official title. Diplomate of the Latin American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (CLOVE), diploma in ophthalmology from the Autonoma University of Barcelona. Accredited by AVEPA in the specialty of Ophthalmology. President of the AVEPA Ophthalmology Group and member of the Accreditation Examination Committee. He has presented papers and conferences in national and international congresses, courses and seminars. He has a national award for published works and two international awards for presentations to congresses. His work and research are focused on ophthalmology, especially in the pathology and surgery of the cornea, glaucoma, ocular lesions produced by systemic causes, treatment of diseases of the posterior pole and comparative ophthalmology. He is a collaborating researcher of the Ophthalmobiology Group of the University of the Basque Country, having co-directed several Doctoral Theses within the same. Author of multiple publications in national and international journals.
