The most common treatment for male cats presenting with repeated episodes of urethral blockage is perineal urethrostomy. Up to 10% of the operated patients will develop a significant degree of urethral stenosis at the stoma site.
Several surgical options are available to treat this debilitating, and potentially life-threatening, complication.
