This lecture will present current knowledge of dental pain in dogs and cats using the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Dental Standardization guidelines in a practical manner. Dental pain will be presented in a multidisciplinary manner involving dentistry, nutrition, behavior, anesthesia and pain management. A video- and case-based approach will follow including considerations for pain assessment in cats and dogs.
