As veterinarians we learn to identify and localize neurological disease using the neurological examination. Of the parameters we assess, perhaps one of the most important is the gait. A hands-off evaluation of our patients walking slowly and freely on non-slip surfaces, provides the core of our assessments. This lecture will break down how to assess gait in terms of recognition of different types of deficit using case examples throughout.
