The use of low dose metronomic chemotherapy has becoming very common in veterinary and human medicine patients. Its way of action, directly on the tumor microenvironment, host immune system and cancer cells makes it very interesting as therapeutic approach in cancer. Also, it has demonstrated to be generally well tolerated and no major toxicity and side effects associated. But what is the actual knowledge we have on this therapeutic weapon? Is it indicated for every tumor/patient? When I can use it alone or in combination with other forms of anti-cancer therapy? It there limitations, pitfalls? We will try to clarify this and other question during our session.
