Respiratory sings in reptiles may include nasal discharge, oral discharge, open-mouth breathing, swelling of throat, abnormal posturing of neck and head, bubble blowing, sneezing and other sounds. Possible etiologies can be viral, bacterial and mycotic, but also caused by occluded nostril. Several times a respiratory distress may be caused by fluid or caseous material filled up the choana. Samples of tissues should be collected to summited for culture and sensitivity test, in order to provide the best treatment possible, it’s essential to reach an accurate diagnosis.
