RESUMEN CORTO - SHORT SUMMARY

We describe two cases of toxicity which resulted from erroneous oral administration of  spot – on worming medication to two dogs from the same household. The active ingredients were imidacloprid (100 g/L) and moxidectin (25 g/L), with the latter intoxication known to produce gastrointestinal and neurological signs. Intravenous lipid emulsion (ILE) was used as part of the treatment in both cases resulting in  complete resolution of the presenting clinical signs (abnormal mentation, tremors, ataxia, hypersalivation, mydriatic pupils,  tachypnoea and pyrexia).
