The million dollar question: What causes CKD and why is it so common in elderly cats!? Although we have not been able to answer this question, this presentation will discuss what we currently DO know about potential etiologies of CKD in cats. If we can’t stop them from getting CKD, can we slow its progression? Mechanisms for progression of disease and factors associated with prognosis will be discussed. Understanding why these disturbances occur and what effect they might have on the course of disease so that you can better counsel your clients to identify and treat them.
