This lecture will review the common complications of liver disease and their management including portal hypertension, hepatic encephalopathy, ascites, and coagulation disorders. After the lecture attendees should be able to: 1) formulate a therapeutic plan for a patient with hepatic encephalopathy 2) formulate a therapeutic plan for a patient with ascites due to liver disease 3) perform a bleeding risk assessment on a patient with liver disease
