¿Cuantas veces os habéis preguntado porqué hay tanta diversidad de lágrimas artificiales en el mercado? Do we need to prescribe different types? Are there many differences between them? Most clinicians prescribe only one type of artificial tears for the treatment of conditions of the ocular surface. However, the current development of diagnostic methods for the conditions of the ocular surface in veterinary patients allows a better characterization of these conditions and, therefore, a more specific treatment that attains better results in an almost immediate manner. Advances in the treatment of superficial ocular conditions will be discussed. Practical tips to choose the most adequate option will be given.
