Jose Novo Matos

Jose Novo Matos DVM PhD DECVIM (Cardiology) MRCVS Jose graduated from the University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2005. After three years working in the Small Animal School Hospital of the University of Lisbon, he moved to Switzerland where he completed a Cardiology residency at the University of Zurich. He became an ECVIM-CA Cardiology Diplomate in 2014 and was awarded RCVS specialist status in Cardiology in 2015. Jose then worked as a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Cardiology in the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, before moving to the Royal Veterinary College where he completed a PhD on Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Jose is now working at the University of Cambridge, as Principal Clinical Cardiologist at the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH), and he is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Royal Veterinary College. His main clinical and research interests are in the field of feline cardiomyopathies and cardiac imaging.
