Atypical cases with normal electrolyte concentrations are increasingly diagnosed in practice and account for approximately a quarter of dogs with hypoadrenocorticism. This practical lecture will aim to cover the principles and challenges of treating the 'atypical Addisonian' and will explore the difficult decisions associated with the management of these cases, such as whether mineralocorticoid supplementation is warranted and how affected patients should best be monitored.
