Treatment of deep pyoderma can be complex due to the high recurrence rate and the increasingly frequent appearance of methicillin-resistant and multi-resistant strains. We will focus our efforts on selecting the most appropriate systemic antimicrobial (we will follow the guidelines for the responsible use of antibiotics), on the management of predisposing diseases and on proactive establishment of prophylactic measures to try avoiding long-term recurrences.
