Hepatic disease in dogs and cats can be broadly categorized into four main groups: parenchymal disease, neoplastic disease, biliary disorders and vascular disorders. Diagnostic imaging plays an important role in the investigation of some of these diseases. This lecture (consisting of 2 parts) will cover the general overview of the imaging features of common hepatobiliary diseases, focusing on imaging modalities such as radiography, ultrasonography and computed tomography. Some basic approaches and concepts in interpreting the images from these imaging modalities will be reviewed.
