During this talk I would address the ¨Questionable Cause¨ of profitability in veterinary clinics. For many years, revenue has been the main target as increase revenue relates closely to increase profit. Unfortunately, many vets have failed to recognize that the increase in revenue was made at a high expense (increasing overheads, specially on staff). This leads to a downwards spiral of overstaffed practices, under motivated employees, frustration and reduced profitability.
The goal would be to differentiate different profit enhancing strategies (6 types) with their pros and cons.
