Chronic nasal disease in cats can be caused by different ethiologies. Commonly nasal, sinusal and nasopharingeal diseases are associated. This must concern clinicians to increase diferentials when dealing with cats and upper respiratory signs. Clinical history, clinical signs and physical exam will help to define and localize the upper airway disease. Even though, to obtain a definitive diagnosis craneal TC or RM and histopathologic study of oronasal tissue is necessary. Feline chronic rinosinusitis is the second most common cause of nasal disease in cats. Its diagnosis is obtained by imaging and histopathologic results. It is suspected that intial ethiology is due to an infection with Feline Herpesvirus-1 that destroy turbinates, causing posterior bacterial invasion. Nowadays is not clear if other primary agents are involved, such as inhaled allergens, Mycoplasma spp or Bordetella bronchiseptica. Treatment is based on nasal flushings, antibiotcs with a rational use, antiviral treatments and in some severe cases surgery. Treatment is directed to reduce clinical signs, and cure is improbable.
