She is the community manager of ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine) and works as veterinarian in the north of England. She belongs to the clinical team of reviewers of InFOCUS-RCVS Knowledge and the feline welfare panel at International Cat Care. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2002. She got the Certificate GP Feline Practice (ESVPS) in 2011. She became Member of the ANZCVS Medicine of Cats in 2016 and joined the ISFM Academy of Feline Practitioners. She got the RCVS Advanced Practitioner Certificate in Feline Medicine in 2016 and the AVEPA Feline Medicine Accreditation in 2017. In 2020 Yaiza got the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour. She has published papers in national and international educational and scientific journals and has taken part in different projects of postgraduate education for veterinary practitioners.
