Anemia occurs very commonly in cats, particularly non-regenerative anemias related to FeLV or chronic renal failure. Moreover, anemia due to blood loss are less common although hepatopathy-related and inherited coagulopathies are seen. This presentation will focus on hemolytic anemias due to the accelerated destruction of erythrocytes. Beside hemomycoplasma and other infectious-induced hemolytic anemias there are many differential diagnoses cats. This session will cover the various causes and management of hemolytic anemias in cats.
