One of the greatest recent advances in veterinary medicine has been the irruption of isoxazolines. This new family of drugs has a great acaricide and insecticide activity and has caused a revolution in the fight against most ectoparasites in small animals. Several of the skin diseases caused by mites in the canine and feline species will be reviewed in this session, trying to clarify some related myths and focusing on both diagnosis and new treatment options.
