Separation-related disorders (SRD) are behavioural disorders that reflect different underlying emotional motivations such as the craving for contact, frustration, fear or anxiety. Identifying, differentiating and understanding the motivation and emotions involved in each case is essential in order to apply an appropriate treatment and obtain successful results. There are different behaviour modification techniques that can be used for separation-related behaviour problems. Based on our knowledge, exercises can be designed to tailor to each situation and particular animal. A series of clinical cases will illustrate some useful techniques and exercises for the treatment of disorders related to separation. References: Lenkei, R., Faragó, T., Bakos, V. et al. (2021).
