Inflammation of the lower urinary tract in feline idiopathic cystitis occurs as a consequence of genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors. The approach to the disease must be multimodal and includes the management of possible concurrent diseases, fulfilling the physical and physiological needs, and stress reduction.
