This lecture discusses the unique physiological characteristics of the maternal patient and its effects on sedation and general anesthesia. Clinical pharmacology with an emphasis on the dystocia patient will also reviewed and appropriate protocols discussed. Neonatal resuscitation will also be briefly reviewed.
