When it comes to biliary disease, it is important that we diagnose the problem correctly and identify if it’s a primary biliary disease or an extrahepatic biliary disease as the surgical treatment can be very different.
Probably the most common pathology is biliary mucocele. We will be discussing indication for surgery and how to perform a cholecystectomy, open versus laparoscopy.
We will also be discussing the different surgical treatments for patients with extrahepatic biliary disease, especially putting emphasis in when and how to perform a cholecystoduodenostomy.
