Diagnostic imaging is an important step in the work-up of animals with back pain or neurologic disease related to the spine. This lecture will provide an overview of the modalities used for spinal imaging, with a focus on CT and MRI. Although MRI provides superior soft tissue contrast, CT is more often available in referral clinics. Imaging technique and benefits of each modality will be demonstrated using many clinical cases.
