Osteosyntheses failures are relatively uncommon complications and are most frequently associated with technical errors. While multiple factors may be involved, inaccurate diagnosis, cursory pre-operative planning, inappropriate implant selection, failure to adhere to surgical principles, inaccurate post-operative evaluation are common mistakes that may lead to bone and/or implant failure and eventually require revision. This presentation will address strategies to avoid surgical errors and propose approaches to correct them and thus improve surgical outcome.
